THE WOLVES ARE PREACHING! BE CAREFUL WHO YOU LET FEED YOUR SOUL.

Not every voice that sounds holy comes from Heaven. Some voices carry charisma, music, lights, and promises—but no truth. They draw crowds, not disciples. They build platforms, not altars. They guilt you to give them your money, calling it a ‘tithe’. These are the wolves Jesus warned us about—ravenous spirits dressed in designer clothes, preaching from glittering stages, while souls starve for the true Word of God. In these last days, deception is not outside the Church; it’s standing behind the pulpit.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” ~ Matthew 7:15

Jesus’ warning was prophetic and urgent. He knew there would come a time when people would confuse entertainment for anointing, and emotion for presence. That time is now. Churches are turning into stages. Smoke machines fill the sanctuary where prayer once did. Popcorn replaces reverence, and the music stirs the flesh more than the spirit. The House of God was never meant to resemble a circus.

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. But you have made it a den of thieves.” – Mark 11:17

When the Church becomes about performance, the power of the Holy Spirit departs. False teachers love such atmospheres because the crowd becomes dependent on the feeling rather than the truth. They preach comfort without conviction, grace without repentance, and blessing without obedience. But God is not impressed by numbers—He is moved by holiness.

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” – 2 Corinthians 11:13–14

Satan doesn’t enter the Church through open rebellion; he enters through imitation. He mimics worship. He imitates preaching. He counterfeits miracles. Many believers cannot tell the difference because they no longer know the Word of God deeply enough to discern.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” – Hosea 4:6

If your church is focused on entertainment, fashion, and feelings, instead of repentance, reverence, and righteousness—it’s time to step away. The Spirit of God is not found in smoke machines but in contrite hearts.

A true teacher or pastor will never make the message about themselves. They won’t glorify wealth, trends, or fame. They will point you directly to the cross and call you to holiness. False teachers, however, want to make you comfortable in your sin because conviction threatens their following.

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.” – Matthew 24:11

Be careful whose table you eat from spiritually. You can’t feed on worldliness all week and expect to walk in the Spirit. The wolves are preaching—and they look and sound good doing it. Test every spirit, measure every message against Scripture, and refuse to let your soul be entertained to death.

Questions to Ask Yourself for Self-Examination

  1. Does the teaching I receive draw me closer to repentance and holiness, or only make me feel good about staying the same?
  2. Is my church centered on Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word—or is it built around entertainment, comfort, and emotional hype?
  3. Do I recognize the difference between the anointing of the Holy Spirit and human excitement?
  4. Have I allowed spiritual leaders to disciple me without first testing their fruit and their doctrine?
  5. Am I seeking the approval of the crowd or the approval of Christ?
  6. Do I spend more time consuming Christian content or personally studying the Bible for myself?
  7. Would Jesus recognize my worship and teaching environment as holy—or would He drive it out like He did the money changers?

Prayer to Abba Father

Abba Father, open my eyes to see truth clearly in these deceptive times. Liberally pour out your wisdom, understanding and discernment to me. Guard my heart from voices that do not come from You. Give me discernment to recognize wolves, no matter how gentle their words sound. Remove me from every place and influence that dishonors Your presence. Purify my heart so that I hunger for holiness more than hype. Restore reverence to my worship and truth to my hearing. Surround me with teachers who fear You, live righteously, and rightly divide the Word of truth. Let Your Spirit be my ultimate Teacher, and may Your truth be my safeguard in these last days.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
