LOOKING UP WHEN YOU’RE DOWN

There are days when your emotions pull you downward. You feel discouraged. Tired. Disappointed. Maybe even defeated.  When you are down, everything starts looking down with you. Your thoughts get darker. Your problems look bigger. Your strength feels smaller. That is exactly when you need to change where you are looking.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help?”

(Psalm 121:1 NKJV)

Your help is not coming from your feelings. It is not coming from your circumstances suddenly becoming perfect. It is not coming from the old thing you once used to escape.

👉Your help comes from Yahweh.

Recovery becomes dangerous when discouragement convinces you to stare at yourself, your failures, your cravings, and your circumstances until they become bigger than God. Sometimes you do not need another answer. Sometimes all you need to do is simply look up.

“My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”

(Psalm 121:2 NKJV)

  • You may feel down. But you do not have to stay down.
  • You may feel weak. But weakness does not mean Yahweh has left you.
  • You may not see a way forward. But the One directing your steps can see what you cannot.

When your feelings are looking down., make your faith look up.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Catch yourself every time your mind begins spiraling downward today. Then stop and say: “My help comes from Yahweh.”

👉Look up before you give up.

PRAYER

Abba Father, when discouragement pulls my thoughts downward, remind me to lift my eyes toward You. Keep me from staring so long at my problems that I forget how great You are. Strengthen my faith, steady my heart, and help me remember that my help comes from You. In Jesus’ holy and Almighty name, amen.
